Today, we’re announcing Databricks One — a new experience that gives business users fast and secure access to insights from data and AI. With a beautiful and streamlined user interface as well as access to curated AI/BI Genie spaces, Dashboards and Databricks Apps, Databricks One is designed to help business teams make smarter decisions without needing to be expert technical practitioners.
The full Databricks One experience will enter beta later this summer. The new “consumer access” entitlement and simplified workspace experience are available to all Databricks customers starting today.
Why We Built Databricks One
At Databricks, our mission is to democratize data and AI. For years, we’ve focused on helping technical teams—data engineers, scientists, and analysts—build pipelines, develop advanced models, and deliver insights at scale. But even with powerful tools like AI/BI Dashboards, Genie, and Databricks Apps, one major challenge remained: getting these tools into the hands of business users.
Most business users don’t have the time, skills, or desire to work in a technical environment designed for data engineers and scientists. And that’s not a failure on their part—it’s a signal that we needed to rethink the experience entirely. If data and AI are going to drive decisions across an organization, the interface for accessing those insights needs to be simpler, more focused, and purpose-built for business teams.
That’s what led us to create Databricks One.
What is Databricks One?
Databricks One is a new product experience designed specifically for business users. It gives these users a single, intuitive entry point to interact with data and AI—without needing to understand clusters, queries, models, or notebooks.
With Databricks One, users can:
- View and interact with AI/BI Dashboards to track KPIs and drill into key metrics
- Ask and answer data questions in natural language using AI/BI Genie
- Use custom-built Databricks Apps that combine analytics, AI, and workflows in tailored interfaces
- Browse content by domain, organized around business areas like “Customer 360” or “Marketing Campaign Performance”
All of this is delivered in a clean, focused layout designed to minimize friction and surface what matters most.
Through Databricks AI/BI, we developed a suite of dashboards, each of which could benefit any member of Wineshipping. With Databricks One, we will be able to securely deliver these dashboards in an environment that is intuitive and accessible for all users.

Built on Three Core Principles
We want every Databricks user—not just expert technical practitioners—to get the most out of their data. That’s why we grounded Databricks One in three core principles:
1. Intuitive Consumer Experience
Databricks One gives business users one place to access insights. The interface is designed to remove clutter and guide users toward the dashboards, apps, and Genie spaces most relevant to their role.
Through AI/BI Genie, business users can jump directly into a conversation with their data to understand the what, why, and how, asking questions like “What region is growing fastest?”, “Why did sales drop in April?” and “How can we accelerate growth in the Midwest?”
Users can also access and interact with all AI/BI Dashboards they have permission to view.
AI-powered search and recommendations help users find relevant dashboards, analytics and apps faster.
Additionally, content is organized into Domains—collections of data, dashboards, Genie spaces, and apps grouped by business concept, such as a project, use case, or business unit.
2. Simple for Administrators
Getting users onboarded shouldn’t be a project in itself, so we’ve made it easy with Databricks One. To give users and groups access to an initial simplified workspace experience, just add them to your target workspace and ensure the new “consumer access” entitlement is enabled, like in the screen below. Note that full automation via an API is also supported.
Later this summer, you’ll then be able to opt into the full “Databricks One” experience via the Preview Portal on a per-workspace basis. Users with the “consumer access” entitlement will then automatically receive the new experience.
As you scale, onboarding is even easier to manage with automatic identity management for customers who leverage Entra ID.
3. Trusted and Secure
Underpinning Databricks One is Unity Catalog, so data teams can expand access confidently without changing their governance strategy. This means administrators can:
- Manage data access by individual users or groups—the same way you’re used to managing your technical users
- Implement row and column-level security (RLS/CLS), ensuring users only see the data they’re allowed to see
- Control access simultaneously and seamlessly in both Databricks-native tools and third-party BI platforms like Tableau and Power BI
With Databricks One, security, compliance, and auditing are integrated from the start, using the same unified governance model you already rely on.
The Future of Databricks One
This is just the beginning for Databricks One. We are starting with a brand new experience for business users within a single workspace, and in the coming months, we will expand these users’ view to all the assets they can access from across the entirety of their Databricks account. Databricks One for the account will bring the entire universe of insights to their fingertips. Ultimately, we want Databricks One to be the one-stop shop for business users to leverage data and AI—no matter what question they’re trying to answer.
Get Started Today
Databricks One will be available to all customers of the Databricks Intelligence Platform as a beta later this summer. Select features, such as Genie Deep Research, will be available as a private preview later in the summer. Databricks One will be available to all customers for no additional license fees.
In the meantime, you can begin onboarding your business users to Databricks’ simplified workspace experience using the new “consumer access” entitlement, now generally available on all clouds.
We’re excited to usher in this new era of data accessibility with Databricks One. Stay tuned for more updates, and we look forward to your feedback.
