Apple is reportedly preparing a significant design overhaul for the iPhone 17, introducing a new model, a revised camera array, and an innovative color option.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to feature Apple’s most substantial design changes in years. This includes the introduction of an entirely new model, the iPhone 17 Air. Concurrently, the iPhone 17 Pro is anticipated to incorporate a radically different camera array, altering its visual presentation.
Reports indicate Apple is developing an exclusive new color for the iPhone 17 lineup. This new color is specifically designed to complement the Liquid Glass design language integrated into iOS 26. The unique characteristic of this color is its ability to display varied effects based on ambient lighting conditions.
A reputable Apple leaker, as identified by Macworld, recently disclosed details on Weibo regarding this new color. According to the leaker, the color will initially present as white but will exhibit “different effects under different light.” This suggests a dynamic coloration, potentially appearing holographic or iridescent.
This approach to color represents a significant departure for Apple, which has historically utilized single, consistent hues for its iPhone devices. Prior to recent years, the company primarily offered iPhones in shades of silver or grey. The introduction of brighter, more varied single colors has occurred only in recent times.
