Apple TV 4K With A-series Chip May Debut On September

A new Apple TV 4K hardware release is anticipated, with a recent report corroborating earlier information about its launch timeline. The device is expected to replace the current model.

Hartley Charlton, writing for MacRumors, stated, “Apple is still on track to release a new Apple TV model later this year, according to a reliable source speaking to MacRumors.” This source confirmed the high likelihood of a new model replacing the existing Apple TV 4K by the end of the year, leading to the discontinuation of the current version. No specific feature details were provided by this source.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg initially reported the launch of a new Apple TV 4K in 2025. The latest corroboration points to a potential release at the iPhone 17 event, currently rumored for September 9. This timing aligns with Apple’s plan to promote a significant slate of Apple TV+ originals starting in September. The new Apple TV 4K is expected to feature an upgraded A-class chip, potentially supporting Apple Intelligence, and Apple’s proprietary Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip. Hints within tvOS 26 suggest a possible built-in camera.
