TP-Link has introduced its inaugural Wi-Fi 7 travel router, the TL-WR3602BE, offering up to 3.6 Gbps of bandwidth to simplify multi-device connectivity on public Wi-Fi networks.
Connecting multiple wireless devices to public Wi-Fi networks in locations such as airports or hotels can be time-consuming. This travel router allows pre-connection of multiple devices to a single unit, requiring only one device to connect to the public network. Users can manage captive portals and login pages once via TP-Link’s mobile Tether app or the router’s web interface.
The TL-WR3602BE enhances privacy through support for OpenVPN and WireGuard protocols, facilitating connections to over 35 different VPN providers, including NordVPN and Surfshark, when utilizing public Wi-Fi. Unlike smartphone hotspots, which typically connect a limited number of devices, TP-Link’s new travel router supports connections for up to 90 devices simultaneously.
The travel router operates without a built-in battery, requiring 5V for power. It can be powered via an included AC adapter, an external power bank, or a USB-C connection to a laptop. The device features external antennas for extended range, a USB-A 3.0 port for file sharing from connected drives, a 2.5 Gbps WAN port, and a 1 Gbps LAN port. A customizable button allows configuration for functions such as VPN activation or other rapid toggles.
