Apple Vision Pro 2 To Feature M5 Chip

Apple Vision Pro, set to reach its two-year mark in February, may integrate an advanced processing unit in its next iteration. The current model utilizes an M2 chip, which was contemporary when the device was initially announced, though the M3 chip subsequently appeared in other Apple products prior to the Vision Pro’s market release.

Initial speculation regarding the Apple Vision Pro 2’s processor suggested the inclusion of the unreleased M5 chip. Subsequent reports, however, indicated a shift, proposing the M4 chip for the updated device. This would align with the original Vision Pro‘s strategy of incorporating a chip one generation behind the most current M-series processor at the time of its availability.

MacRumors, referencing what it describes as an Apple code leak, suggests the Apple Vision Pro 2 will feature the M5 chip. This information is attributed to “code accidentally shared by Apple” and “information found in code that Apple mistakenly shared.”

The alleged code leak also provides insights into other forthcoming Apple products. It indicates that the Apple Watch Series 11 will not receive a speed enhancement. Additionally, the next generation of the iPad mini is projected to operate on an A19 Pro chip. The current iPad mini model is equipped with an A17 Pro chip, which supports Apple Intelligence functionalities.
