Apple’s IPhone 17 Pro To Get An Exclusive New Display

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models are rumored to feature an exclusive anti-reflective display. This development follows previous reports concerning production challenges, with new information suggesting these issues have been resolved. The anti-reflective glass technology is anticipated for the premium Pro models, while the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will not incorporate this feature.

Juli Clover, writing for MacRumors, reported that a reliable source informed MacRumors that Apple suppliers have achieved a sufficient yield in the production of the anti-reflective glass. This yield rate is now high enough to support mass production for integration into the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The anti-reflective display technology is specifically designated for these high-end models, excluding the standard iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air from receiving it.

The concept of an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant display first emerged in March, when leaker Instant Digital asserted that the iPhone 17 glass would incorporate a “super-hard [anti-reflective] layer” designed to offer enhanced scratch resistance. However, a month later, MacRumors reported that Apple had encountered production difficulties, leading to speculation that the feature might be excluded from the final product. This marked the last significant update regarding the anti-reflective display’s status until the recent report from MacRumors, which indicates the feature is now back on track, albeit limited to the Pro models.
