Apple News+ Audio Stories Finally Launch Outside The US

Apple News+ Audio Stories have expanded to Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom, five years after their initial U.S. launch. This expansion makes the feature available in all four countries where Apple News and Apple News+ operate.

Previously exclusive to the U.S. since July 2020, the audio stories, as reported by MacRumors, are accessible through the Apple News app and, depending on the content, the Podcasts app. Apple’s original announcement stated that Apple News would produce approximately 20 audio stories per week. These stories are professionally narrated audio versions of feature reporting and long-form articles from publications such as Esquire, Essence, Fast Company, GQ, New York magazine, Sports Illustrated, TIME, Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Wired. Newspapers including the Los Angeles Times and The Wall Street Journal also contribute content.

Apple’s continued investment in the platform is evident through recent additions like the Food section, launched last year, and the new Emoji Game. Apple News+ costs $12.99 per month after a one-month free trial. It is also part of the Apple One Premier bundle.
