Spotify now allows users to disable the dedicated “Create” button on its main navigation bar, addressing user feedback.
The “Create” button, shifted from the Library tab to the bottom navigation bar months ago, provides quick access to several features. Tapping it reveals options to make a new playlist, collaborative playlist, “Blend,” AI playlist, or start a “Jam” session. While these functions remain available, Spotify acknowledged user views that a dedicated navigation bar spot was unnecessary.
Implemented on July 31st based on community suggestions, the option to hide the button is now live. Users can disable it by navigating to Settings and privacy in their Spotify app. Within the Content and display section, a toggle allows switching the “Create” button visibility off or on. Importantly, Spotify clarifies this setting is device-specific. Changes made on one device will not automatically apply to others; users must adjust the toggle individually on each device they use.
This update has rolled out to users on both Android and iOS platforms within the last few days. Spotify states the feature should now be active for all applicable users.
