If You Have These IPhones You Won’t Be Able To Zoom

Zoom has announced the forthcoming cessation of support for iOS 13 and iOS 14 operating systems. This update was included in the release notes for Zoom version 6.5.10. Users with devices running these older iOS versions should prepare for the change.

The Zoom update to version 6.5.10 outlines the general features, specifying the “upcoming end of support for iOS 13 and iOS 14.” As noted by MacMagazine, while the company has not provided an exact date for the termination of support, the Zoom application will soon necessitate that users operate on iOS 15 or a more recent version. The update also includes enhancements to joining personal meeting rooms.

Fortunately, hardware compatibility will not pose an issue. Every iPhone model capable of running iOS 13 is also capable of running iOS 15. This ensures a seamless transition for the majority of users. The same principle applies to iPads. The iPadOS release notes similarly mention the impending end of support for the specified older operating systems. The update applies to both iPadOS 13 and iPadOS 14.

The decision to discontinue support for older iOS versions is attributed to a decreasing user base on these systems. Although most users can update their devices, some corporate devices remain locked to older software versions. For those relying on Zoom for work and whose devices are running iOS 13 or iOS 14, it is advisable to contact their IT departments to arrange for a system update.
